Owners Michael Belbin & Julie Lupia met overseas, both working harvests in Oregon, USA. Michael grew up in the Coal Valley of Tasmania, with farming heritage that dates back to Early Tasmanian convict settlement. His childhood farm neighboured a developing and soon to be prominent vineyard and so he was introduced to growing grapes at a young age and has worked in the vines for as long as he can remember.
Julie grew up in Niagara Falls, Canada where she studied oenology and viticulture before moving to Tasmania, where she's lived for over a decade now.
The label brings together their varied winemaking experience. Wines include Pinot Noir, Riesling, Traditional Method Sparkling and Cabernet franc. All of the wines are produced using grapes grown by Michael and Julie on their 2-hectare vineyard in the Coal Valley. Wines are bottled by hand, unfined and unfiltered. Wines bottled under Vinolok closure which is 100% recyclable. Each of the labels were hand-drawn and painted by Julie.
