Charity/Community Group/Not-for-Profit Stall

Salamanca Market has a FREE site that Tasmanian registered charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations can book to use. To express your interest, please read the information below and the terms and conditions on the booking form.  Then complete our online form.

Who can apply?

Registered charities, apolitical community groups and not-for-profit organisations that are based in Tasmania.

Is the collection of donations permitted as part of the booking?

Yes, subject to any requirements of the Tasmanian government.  For more information, please go to the Consumer, Building and Occupational Services website.

Where is the site located?

The charity site is located next to the Salamanca Market Information Booth, between Salamanca Place and Castray Esplanade.

What size is the site?

The site can fit a 3m x 3m marquee.  It is preferable that you bring your own marquee, however we can provide one if needed.  You will need to bring your own chairs.

Is there a fee for the site?

The site is provided free of charge.

How many times per year can we make a booking?

Bookings are limited to 2 per charity/organisation, per calendar year.

What are the conditions of booking?

Listed below are some of the main conditions.  For a full list of terms and conditions, see the booking form.

  • The use of balloons, plastic bags, plastic giveaways, plastic stock is not permitted; only 100% compostable packaging is permitted
  • The selling of food and beverage products is not permitted
  • The selling of non-food and non-beverage products is permitted; a strong preference will be given to locally-made or upcycled products
  • Individuals or protest groups, lobby groups or bookings of a political, ideology, religious nature will not be considered
  • Any activities relating to the booking are not to enter the main market area, and must be kept within the site boundaries
  • Salamanca Market administration reserves the right to decline any application.
