The framed glass artisan pictures are designed and handmade by Rosemarie and Terry Proctor and are inspired by their garden and the local environment in the Huon Valley.

They start with a sheet of usually translucent glass, of varying colours, and use these to create the design onto using different grades of glass, sheet glass, powdered glass, glass frit and copper wire. The design is gradually built up and when happy with the picture they are fired in a kiln, at varying temperatures and holding times to get the desired results. These pictures are then glued into the shadow frames, to create the illusion of the design appearing to be floating in the frame.

Each frame is designed so you can take the backing off enabling the sunlight to stream through the floating glass design, bringing the joy of the garden into the house. The backing could also be retained allowing the pictures to be hung on a wall or placed on a shelf.
