Viking Cones of Salamanca has been a favourite destination for generations over the years. The origins of Valhalla Ice Cream, which was established in December 1989, evolved from a desire by the original Viking Cones owners to produce a delicious gourmet Tasmanian made ice cream for their customers to experience and enjoy. The recipes use only the finest ingredients that Tasmania offers and, as Valhalla stated, they only used the purest cream from cows that fed on lush green pastures and drank from fresh mountain streams, the fruit was freshly picked from local Tasmanian orchards, and finally they added a secret ingredient – a passion to produce a taste fit for the gods.
As custodians of Viking Cones of Salamanca since 2013, the family has been proud to continue tradition, providing both locals and visitors the chance to enjoy the pure indulgence of wonderful Tasmanian produce.
Coffee and ice cream are a great mix. Come and try an affogato with a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with an espresso shot. Mornings start at Salamanca Market with the delicious smell of coffee as the first cuppa is made of the day.
